Fat Reduction via Freezing Pre & Post Care

Dear $(Contact.FirstName),

We are looking forward to seeing you for your upcoming visit in our Medi Spa! In order to help you maximize your treatment results and minimize any potential unwanted side effects, we are including a list of treatment instructions to follow prior to and after your treatment. Please contact our staff if you have any questions or concerns.

Pre-Treatment Instructions for fat freezing:

  • Fat freezing is just one part of your body contouring journey! For best results, we recommend beginning treatment when you are within 15-20 pounds of your ideal body weight.
  • Make sure you are drinking plenty of water on a daily basis prior to and post-treatment.
  • Bring a lunch and/or snacks for longer treatments.
  • Bring socks to keep warm during treatment.
  • For comfort, bring tight or compression garments to wear on treatment area afterwards. You can wear this for as long as you need post-treatment. This does not change treatment results, but assists in your comfort as your body is working hard to get rid of the dead fat cells.
  • We recommend that you exercise before your treatment as you will have to wait 48-72 hours after to exercise again. Again, this is only for your comfort post-treatment. The treated area can feel loose since it is typically numb.

Post-Treatment Instructions for fat freezing:

  • To help control discomfort, wear compression garments on the treated area for as long as needed.
  • Numbness in the treated area will vary depending on the patient, but in general will last 1-3 weeks.
  • Radiating nerve pain is normal as the nerves wake back up after treatment.
  • We recommend that you do manual massage to the treated area once per day post-treatment to help the fat cells move towards your lymphatic system for processing and removal.
  • Drink lots of water daily to help with lymphatic drainage.
  • You may experience redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, cramping, and aching pains for the few weeks following treatment.
  • A feeling of fullness in the back of the throat is normal after submental area treatment.

If you have any questions or concerns please call our staff.
